AWARD-I was just notified that I have won the Public Service Award, presented by CSHA, a Speech-Language organization. This organization has 10 Districts in California, and the award is for the entire state. This award is given to someone outside of their group that has made a significant contribution as a volunteer. The award will be presented at their conference this Spring, in San Francisco.
ON THE CALANDER
California Brain Injury Association is presenting 6 caregiver seminars. I attended the one in Pomona and learned lots.www.calbiainfo@yahoo.com for more info. I sold and signed books at this event.
I presented a seminar for the Elder Task Force.
Members from the City of Monrovia, Wells Fargo Bank, Fire and Police,etc. were in attendance. Of course, my subject was on brain injury.
I attended the NCIBA book show. This event was for wholesale book purchase and was not open for public sales.
I spoke at Glendale Adventist Medical Center at a four day workshop presented by the Neuroscience Services Department My subject was, Brain Injury Support Groups.
I lectured at the Eagle Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church. We had a very good turn out. Our decussion was about brain injury and it's impact on the family. This will help them have a better understanding as they come in contact with someone who has a brain injury.
There was a health fair at Glendale Adventist Medical Center to help celebrate Nurses Week. We were at this event and provided information on acquired brain injury and had my book, BRAINSTORMING-Life After Acquired Brain Injury available for purchase.
Our Brainstomers Support Group appeard at the GLendale Galleria Health Fair presented by Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
TV appearance on Channel 6 discussing my book, BRAINSTORMING-Life After Acquired Brain Injury and various brain injury issues including support groups.
